What an incredible week we’ve had in Year 5; everyone has thoroughly enjoyed St Joseph’s first ever International Week!
Years 5&6 made all of their teachers very proud with their rousing rendition of “World in Union” in both the Elementary and High School assemblies – parents will be able to hear them in full voice when they perform again at the Christmas Concert.
We chose Ireland as the country we would learn about, and all of our students embraced our theme with great enthusiasm! Year 5 students wrote limericks, learned the rules of Irish sports hurling and gaelic football and became knowledgeable about many of the tourist attractions Ireland has to offer. Some students focused on traditional stories from Ireland, others on Irish symbols and yet more on Irish language, music and dance.
The Irish artwork and designs that students brought in from home and their inventive costumes were fantastic – Ms Lysaght even had a tear in her eye as all of Year 5 sang Molly Malone with gusto!
Photos of the day will be coming soon!
