Last week year 3 had a fantastic time learning all about China for the International week. We looked at Chinese culture, learnt Chinese songs, wrote Chinese words and created Chinese art.
Last week in Literacy children planned and begun writing their very own stories based around travel. Following a box plan, using 6 sections to help structure a story, children begun to draft a story. Next week we will continue writing these stories and ‘publish’ the resulting stories for our own book area. We will continue to look at story writing over the coming weeks moving forward in the language used in the stories, with a particular focus on adverbs and clauses.
Last week in maths children learnt all about fractions, comparing, ordering, adding and subtracting fractions with both equivalent and unrelated denominators. We will continue learning fractions next week and move on to a focus in bar graphs and data at the end of the week.
