This week in Mandarin we have been focusing at the text 《聪明的王勇》,《铜钱的响声》and《聪明的张奶奶》. We have went through part of the vocabulary in the text and did some exercise on character writing as well as the Pinyin. Children need to hand in their characters writing homework next Monday(6/3/2017). Furthermore, we have looking at two story books  which are 《欧莉安和她的影子》and 《青蛙镜子》during world book day. Besides that, we will also have two spelling next week which are Monday(6/3/2017)[Vocabulary sheet 1-17] and Friday(10/3/2017)[Vocabulary sheet 18-25].Children could practise their vocabulary through the link below for enhancing their learning.

This week in Chinese class, children have been reading the text 放假了 (School is Over). We have learnt new vocabularies, such as 放假、以后、旅游、物、海洋、公园、游泳、帮、点、家、活儿、快. During the lessons, we were focusing on reading. Students also shared their travel experiences with the class. Apart from that, students have been able to distinguish the tone sandhi for ‘’. We had finished spelling and worksheet task – 江河 (Rivers). On top of that, we had a story telling and reading session in library.

This week in Chinese we have continued learning about the topic《我们坐校车去上学》(We go to School by Bus). We learned to construct sentences using the correct verb. During the lessons, children worked in pair to rearrange the phrases to form sentences and explained the sentences in class. This week in Chinese children have been working on reading comprehension, some of them find it hard to understand and not able to complete it on time, but at least we know which part should we work harder on. On World Book Day we read《我妈妈》together, we learnt a new grammar ‘像……一样……’ and some adjectives from the story that we get to use it on our writing. Children are encouraged to read page 45 and page 46 from textbook to enhance their knowledge on Lesson 7.
